Bribery has become quite common in our country. People find many different ways to bribe a person in order to fulfil their own selfish desires at any cost. Bribing is indeed adopted to get things done in a very easy manner. And, this shortcut leads to much corruption right from the top level to the lower level.
Many such cases of bribery which has been brought out in the open are clearly the neat examples which show that there isn't any self-righteous ones who have denied the sweetness of bribes. But, we must also agree the existence of rare personalities who have actually refrained themselves from practicing this particular corrupted act of greediness. 'Rewarding Under the table' policy is being adopted mostly in government institutions but this doesn't mean that private institutions are free from such guilty conduct. In short, bribery is being glorified in order to achieve what we want so badly.
Our government has indeed tried its level best to curb this act of corruption. But, unfortunately bribery hasn't been wiped out completely from the system. It keeps on thriving itself within the hidden corners of selfish-minded agendas.
A recent incident had occurred in a particular Cantonment Board of the city in which I reside. A very simple correction had to be made in the birth certificate of my infant daughter. A specific clerk decided to make me his target. He had asked me to pay him the amount of Three Hundred Rupees to rectify the mistake secretly. I refused to give in to his greedy demands and got the correction done in the right manner with the help of a top level official and that too without paying any charges. Thanks to the valuable etiquette taught by my mother !!
